Five on Friday

Oh hey! I’m back in the blogging game!

We have finally settled in Tennessee and I’ve got my desk/work area all set up. Still working on figuring out how to blog with a 3 year old at my ankles every second (especially with nap time out the window now), but I think I’ve got it figured out. I can’t wait to get started on a few projects! In the meantime, here’s my latest Five on Friday to show what we’ve been up to lately:

One.

Before we moved to Tennessee, Navy and I had a mini ‘Mommy and Me’ photo session. I absolutely LOVE the sneak peaks – I can wait to see and share with you the rest of the pictures. The dress I’m wearing is from ModCloth and Navy’s is from Target.

Two.

About a week after we moved, we played tourists and visited The Island at Pigeon Forge. It reminded me a lot of Baytowne Wharf back home – just a little more mountain themed. We rode the Great Smoky Moutain Wheel, sampled moonshine, bought some of Bootleggers famous blueberry and blackberry wine, and ate at Paula Dean’s Kitchen for dinner. FYI on Paula Dean’s — be prepared to wait. Go well in advance to put your name on the list.

Three.

We went hiking in the Smokies! There’s a great picnic area at Cades Cove – just be sure to go on a week day rather than weekend. It was packed when we went (on a Sunday).  All of the picnic tables and designated eating spots were taken, so we made do with a log by the river. It ended up being a perfect little setting for a picnic. There’s also horse riding, a spot for RVs and camping, and a whole tour you can take. More info on Cades Cove can be found here and here.

Four.

The Ijams Nature Center held its annual May Day Festival on May 1st. After checking out the festival, we ventured out and toured the grounds. They have a really neat play area for kids with a fort, twisted branch sculptures, tee-pees, and more. We also hiked along their Boardwalk Trail that runs along the Tennessee River – so beautiful! I definitely recommend Ijams for some great outdoor fun!

I’ve partnered with TOBI to bring three looks for you! My first look, featuring Tobi’s By The Sea Romper, posted yesterday. The next will post later today and the third will post within the next few days. Can’t wait for you all to see!

Thank you, Anna! She’s named after her grandpa who was in the Navy 😊 So far, we love this area. Pigeon Forge can be VERY busy, but if you go on a weekday it’s much better. I adore your blog! I love to bake myself and I’m trying to figure out how to balance all of my aprons so I will definitely be frequenting your blog! I hope you have a great day as well!
